Thanks to the combination of its two shells and its numerous bases, Loria provides a simple and uncompromising seating solution to a wide variety of contexts and situations. The result of an extensive development work in search of the most suitable production processes for the most demanding functions, Loria is a seating system designed to be flexible and comfortable in everyday use, while remaining affordable.

Out of the 5 bases I designed for the Loria seating system, the one I am particularly happy with the outcome is the 4 legged plastic base.
It is technically pretty straight forward, very simple to mould, without any gas injection involved. No hidden trick or twist to achieve this shape, and yet it has all the rigidity and durability that is required for such a chair.
This simplicity in manufacturing allowed to keep the price down, resulting in very affordable chairs and armchairs which don’t look basic or ‘low-cost’.
As a designer, it’s the kind of balance I am constantly after while designing a new chair, but honestly it’s a very difficult one to achieve. It is only possible when there is a true and open collaboration with the manufacturer.

Depending on the countries, Loria is sold through the Colos brand or the Cerantola group, its mother company.
